Does anyone know if we have any Cons that happen locally? I keep hearing about different ones on The Signal but they seem to always be across the country from here. Also any Shindigs or screenings?

There are at least one or two in Orlando, and I know there has been some sort of fantasy con in Tampa in the past. The Orlando ones have drawn several Big Damn Heroes in the past, and then there's always Dragoncon in Atlanta...one of these years I'll get up there, I swear!

Megacon seems to be the big Orlando one, looks like it just happened recently... megaconvention.com

I think Tampa is big enough to warrent one. I do think I saw a bunch of superhero dressed folk downtown a few years back, but I don't know what it was.

Necro is usually the biggest in Tampa, and it has a following. It's been likened to a frat party for geeks. The last I heard was that the downtown Hyatt had kicked Necro out and they were looking for a venue across the bay.

I went to their websight, I didn't see anything that drew my attention, they had a long list of guest names but I didn't recognize any of them. That could just be my ignorance though.

It figures that that only con near here is the lame one.

Is this sight the only local browncoat group that you know of?
