Oooh, I sometimes just hate having to work 60+ hours a week. It just doesn't sit right with me. Being a full time student, full time manager, and a full time admin lead for CSTS global tends to make you stay up 24 hours straight. Which is actually what hour I'm on at the moment. 24. Been up for a full day trying to get everything crammed into one weekend before my lackluster 60-hour weeks turn into 75+ hour weeks. Then it gets hectic. Well, I've been AWOL from the site for a little while, mostly for job related reasons, as I'm currently trying to figure out how to reconfigure myself since I was just hired for a new position - I'm now teaching 6th grade Science and Math in Manatee County (just have to figure out a way to tie "Serenity" to the curriculum...) and while the upside is that I've doubled my income over my previous position, I've also more-than-doubled the amount of work I have to do, and my commute has gone from 2 m… Continue

Working at a movie theater is not all fun and games as you might imagine. Well, it might be if you don't work very hard. Seeing that I RUN the theater, it isn't anywhere near fun most of the time. Weekends especially. They are our busy days (duh!) and consequently we work much harder. Fridays and Saturdays are "double" days for me. Open to close, 9 to 12 (midnight). I decided this morning to use some of my money that the US government overcharged me - my tax refund - to reactivate my City of Heroes account. (I will save my rant on the way this country lays and collects taxes for some where closer to April 15). I had to cancel it because my current roommate couldn't afford to pay as much as my previous one. Well, it's been nearly two months into 2008, and already I can tell that it's going to be one of those roller-coaster years. On the up side, I managed to land an internship in the fiscal department of the VA, and it looks like I will have a job there once I graduate USF. After doing fast-food management for the past fifteen years, its nice to be in an office environment.
